In order to receive a barber license, you must have graduated high school, completed an equivalent program, or met the ability to benefit rule. Next, you have to complete 1,000 hours of training at a licensed barber school and also a 4,000 hour apprenticeship. Lastly, you are required to pass an examination to receive your license. Wisconsin Barber License Renewal
Wisconsin barber licenses are renewed on June 31st of odd years and require an $82 fee. There is a $25 fee if your renewal application is late. There is no continuing education required to renew if you were licensed after April 1st, 2011 or renewed for the 2011 cycle. However, continuing education or a test-out exam is required for those who were eligible to renew in 2011 but failed to do so.

If you have 4,000 hours of licensed barber experience in another state, you may acquire a license by endorsement. In addition to the application for licensure in Wisconsin, $82 fee and verification of employment filled out by the manager of your previous place of employment, you must have a certification sent from each state in which you’ve been licensed directly to the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. If you are licensed in another country, you must provide proof that you are certified in that country.
